Accounting Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Assumes the responsibility for the smooth flow of monthly, quarterly and annual client accounting, including ad hoc opportunities, while meeting deadlines
  • Plans, supervises and completes routine to complex engagements
  • Delegates work, supervises accounting staff, provides feedback to them, and evaluates their progress
  • Mentors staff for their long-term development and assists in training when needed
  • Acts as director-in-charge for personal and business clients
  • Acts as key client contact person for various engagements
  • Prepares certain client accounting work
  • Reviews monthly financial statements for reasonableness
  • Acts as a resource for all staff, including tax and accounting services
  • Performs more complex accounting research
  • Prepares projections, as needed, and becomes involved in tax planning for client situations of varying levels of complexity
  • Develops a general understanding of firm philosophy and can apply appropriately
  • Understands, supports and advances the firm’s mission, goals, objectives, and strategies
  • Participates in accounting department and administrative projects
  • Bills and discusses fees with clients
  • Produces quality work and strives for quick turnaround and attentive service
  • Establishes good relationships with all firm personnel and clients
  • Recognizes opportunities to provide additional services to existing clients
  • Demonstrates initiative, creativity, and imagination
  • Participates in process improvement and team development
  • Able to carry out responsibilities without direct supervision
  • Develops entrepreneurial approach to client service and good working relationships with client personnel
  • Maintains contacts with peers, develops network of business contacts, meets with prospective clients, and cultivates referrals
  • Continues to develop accounting knowledge and broad awareness of economic, political, and business conditions
  • Develop and maintain accounting related processes and workflows, and follow firm-wide workflows
  • Cultivate firm culture
  • Takes directions and reports to the Partners in regular intervals
  • Follow all Firm policies and procedures
  • Other reasonable job duties as needed

Role Requirements:

  • CPA license
  • Bachelors and/or Masters in Accounting
  • 3-8 years experience, 2-3 years management experience preferred
  • Team orientation and strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Comfortable working in a paperless-initiative driven office
  • Ability to learn software tools used by the Firm
    • Comfortable working in QuickBooks Online and Desktop
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook

Accountant

Responsibilities:

  • Work with monthly accounting services clients, recording entries in the general ledger
  • Reconciling bank and credit accounts
  • Review general ledger for accuracy
  • Review monthly financials for reasonableness
  • Propose and create reclass entries as needed
  • Comfortable working in QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop
  • Work with tax team to help identify expenses and transactions that might impact tax return
  • Prepare quarterly and annual payroll reports
  • Client communication
  • Willingness to resolve issues using internal and external resources
  • Look for opportunities to provide additional services to clients
  • Use research services to increase technical knowledge and provide valuable services to clients
  • Assist with special projects cross-departmentally, as needed
  • Participate in process improvement and team development
  • Other reasonable job duties as needed

  • Follow all Firm policies and procedures
  • Strong commitment to deadlines

Role Requirements:

Senior Tax Preparer

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare tax returns involving complex issues with a focus on returns dealing with individuals, partnerships, corporations, pass through entities, estates, including multi state taxation
  • Review tax returns prepared by staff, as needed
  • Prepare tax projections and other tax planning strategies
  • Respond to tax notices
  • Research increasingly complex tax issues using internet research services
  • Look for opportunities to provide additional services to clients
  • Use research services to increase technical knowledge and provide valuable services to clients
  • Assist with special projects, as needed
  • Participate in process improvement and team development
  • Assist in training and development of staff
  • Other reasonable job duties as needed
  • Cultivate Firm culture
  • Follow all Firm policies and procedures

Role Requirements:
